How is the restaurant industry doing in Denver? Denver restaurant sales grew by 4.9 percent in the year ending in April, the fourth-highest growth rate among major U.S. cities. Only Riverside, California; Minneapolis; and Phoenix saw greater growth rates over the 12-month period. Baltimore, Detroit and Houston all saw year-over-year sales growth rates under 2 percent. The national average was a 3.6 percent gain. That means over 100,000 restaurants sold!
Denver is the crown jewel of the state’s restaurant scene, dwarfing all other counties with $500 million in sales in the first quarter of this year. Establishments in the capitol city led the way with an 11 percent increase over last year. Now is a great time to buy or sell a restaurant and/or to find a location to start up your culinary dream!
